Services

The Winston-Salem Journal makes available the following services to the public:

Tours: We invite interested groups to request a guided tour of our printing facility at 2051 East 5th Street. Tours are scheduled for groups of six to thirty people, between the hours of 9:30 a.m.-7 p.m. Monday-Friday. Notice of at least two weeks is required for scheduling, and tours can be planned up to three months in advance. All tour guests must be at least ten years old. Speakers: If you are interested in having a news editor, reporter or photographer speak to a group, please contact Ken Otterbourg at 727-7287 or kotterbourg@wsjournal.com. Merchandise: The Journal has a wide variety of logo merchandise available. Selections must be paid for in person at the front desk at 418 N. Marshall St. If you have questions, please contact Debbie Hill at 727-7263 or dhill@wsjournal.com.

With over 300,000 readers every week, the Winston-Salem Journal is Northwest North Carolina's premier news and information medium.

It has long been the policy of the Journal to support community projects and events that benefit Journal readers and communities in important ways.

A great many non-profit agencies add immeasurably to the quality of life throughout the region and it is our privilege to participate with some of them in service projects that benefit tens of thousands of people each year.

Some of the events and groups that the Journal supports include:

The American Red Cross - 12 Days of Christmas Blood Drive
Humanitarian organization, helping millions of people each year prevent, prepare for and cope with emergencies.

March of Dimes - Chili Cookoff and Rubber Duck Regatta
Nonprofit organization dedicated to improving the health of babies by reducing birth defects and infant mortality.

Hospice - Hope Run and Christmas Ornament sale
Strives to enhance the quality of life by managing symptoms, controlling pain, and creating the most comfortable in-home environment possible.

Crisis Control - Hope du Jour Dining Out Day
Participating restaurants will donate 10 % of their day's receipts to Crisis Control Ministry. Proceeds purchase grocery items for the Ministry's food pantry

Salvation Army - Stocking Drive
Its mission is to preach the gospel of Jesus Christ and to meet human need in His name without discrimination.

American Cancer Society - Relay for Life
A Team event to fight Cancer.

American Heart Association - American Heart Walk
American Heart Walk is a non-competitive walking event geared to companies.

Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation - Race for the Cure
A May race/walk that raises money to fight breast cancer and provides survivors numerous ways to celebrate their victories.

Winston-Salem / Piedmont-Triad Symphony - Music at Sunset
