Another Raleigh-area high-school senior has decided to play his college football at N.C. State after changing his recruiting decision, while Duke has lost one of its commitments.
Drew Davis, a 6-foot-3, 220-pound linebacker at Raleigh Broughton, decided to stay at home after being offered a scholarship last week by N.C. State. He had been committed to Minnesota since last June. Davis is the Wolfpack's 23rd commitment, and can sign a binding national letter of intent next month.
Desmond Owino, a defensive lineman from Raleigh's Sanderson High, recently switched his commitment to N.C. State from North Carolina.
Davis was ranked the No. 25 senior in North Carolina in the postseason by SuperPrep magazine. He was named his conference's defensive player of the year as a senior.
Duke's loss is Terrell Jackson, a 6-3, 255-pound defensive tackle from Columbus, Ohio. He is now considering Michigan State, Illinois, Iowa and Pittsburgh.
The Blue Devils' class fell to 17 commitments.
