Coach Jim Grobe of Wake Forest has had so much success with one left-handed quarterback that he went out and landed two more.
Steve Donatell of Highlands Ranch High School in Colorado has committed to Wake Forest, announcing the decision on his Facebook page. He joins another left-handed quarterback in the recruiting class, Tyler Cameron of Jupiter, Fla.
Both most likely will spend next season behind Tanner Price, a left-hander who has started the past two seasons. Cameron, who graduated a semester early from Jupiter High, is enrolled at Wake Forest and will participate in spring practices.
Donatell, assuming he signs in February, would be Wake Forest's first scholarship player from Colorado since linebacker Dustin Lyman (1996-99). Donatell chose Wake Forest's offer over one from Nebraska.
Donatell (6-foot-5, 195) completed 114 of 181 passes last season for 1,686 yards and 25 touchdowns, with four interceptions. He has been timed at 4.6 seconds in the 40-yard dash. Donatell's father, Ed, is secondary coach for the San Francisco 49ers.

ACC gives 3 Blue Devils medical waivers
The ACC announced Tuesday that it has given medical hardship waivers to defensive end Kenny Anunike, defensive back Lee Butler and quarterback Brandon Connette of Duke for the 2011 season, giving each a fifth season of eligibility.
Anunike (knee) and Butler (leg) each played in four games before they were injured. Connette (shoulder) played in two.
Deacons' Looney out of Senior Bowl
Offensive guard Joe Looney of Wake Forest was a late replacement for an injured player in Saturday's Senior Bowl in Mobile, Ala.
But Wake Forest athletics officials said Tuesday in releases that Looney also was injured and will not play.
Looney was added to the North roster late Monday to replace center Garth Gerhart of Arizona State. The Wake Forest releases, citing "a number of Twitter postings," said that Looney tore a foot ligament in practice Tuesday and that he is not expected to play.
