RALEIGH Aslea Williams scored 13 points and had 11 rebounds to lead four players in double figures as Shaw beat visiting Winston-Salem State 83-57 on Monday night at Spaulding Gym.
Backing Williams were Victoria Tanner with 11 points, Kyrie Buford with 10 points and 12 rebounds and Crystal Harris with 10.
Courtney Medley was the lone WSSU player to score in double figures with 10 points. The Rams (16-9, 5-4 Southern Division) shot just 25 percent.
The Bears, the defending CIAA champions, took another step toward clinching the CIAA’s Southern Division as they improved to 19-6 and 8-1 in the division.

No. 3 Notre Dame 68, No. 16 Louisville 52: Skylar Diggins scored 21 points, and teammate Kayla McBride added 15 as Notre Dame routed Louisville in a Big East game Monday.
Notre Dame used a 12-4 run early in the second to take its first double-digit lead at 44-33. Louisville got no closer than seven points the rest of the way.
No. 11 Penn State 84, No. 8 Ohio State 66: Nikki Green scored points and grabbed 15 rebounds Monday night to help visiting Penn State beat Ohio State, clinching at least a share of its first Big Ten title since 2004.
Mia Nickson also had a double-double with 18 points and 15 boards. She and Greene combined for 25 points and 19 rebounds alone in the first half as the Lady Lions (22-5, 11-3) built a 15-point halftime lead.
Samantha Prahalis had 16 points and eight assists for Ohio State.
No. 13 Kentucky 70, Vanderbilt 61: Back home Monday night after losing three straight on the road, Kentucky recovered to beat Vanderbilt behind Samarie Walker’s 15 points and 12 rebounds.
The Wildcats (22-5, 11-3 SEC), are tied with Tennessee for the conference lead.
Tiffany Clarke scored 19 points and Christina Foggie 16 for the Commodores (20-7, 8-6), who could have tied four teams for third place in the SEC.
Appalachian 85, Furman 70: Chakeitha Weldon scored 20 points, and three teammates scored in double figures as Appalachian State routed Furman on Monday night in Boone.
Maryah Sydnor added 18 points for Appalachian, 22-4 overall and 16-2 in the Southern Conference, Raven Gary scored 12, and Anna Freeman added 10 points and eight rebounds.
Teshia Griswold led Furman, 12-14 and 8-9, with 17 points.
Davidson 63, Wofford 39: Sophia Alexandrivicious, Shneeka Center and Laura Murray each scored 10 points Monday night as Davidson routed visiting Wofford in a Southern Conference game.
Alexandrivicious added 10 rebounds for Davidson, 20-7 overall and 16-2 in conference play, which held Wofford to 23-percent shooting from the field.
Campbell 76, Charleston Southern 58: Tonisha Baker scored 15 points, and teammate Katelyn Boss added 13 points and 17 rebounds on Monday night as Campbell won on the road in a Big South came.
The win was No. 475 in the career of coach Wanda Watkins, who is in her 31st season coaching Campbell.
Elon 83, College of Charleston 53: Aiesha Harper scored a game-high 21 points on 8-of-13 shooting from the field as visiting Elon routed Charleston in a Southern Conference game on Monday night.
Elon, 13-13 overall and 9-8 in conference play, led by 10 at halftime and went on a 17-0 run early in the second half.
Longwood 76, Gardner-Webb 65: Chelsea Coward scored a game-high 21 points, and teammate Chrystal Smith added 18 as Longwood used a 10-0 run midway through the second half to break way from visiting Gardner-Webb on Monday night.
Catrina Green led Gardner-Webb with 14 points and 10 rebounds. Teammate Brianna Dillard added 11 points and 13 rebounds.
Coastal Carolina 59, High Point 58: Angelica Henry’s lay-up with one second left gave Coastal Carolina a one-point win over visiting High Point in a Big South game Monday night.
Henry finished with 10 points for Coastal, 13-11 overall and 6-9 in conference play. Olivia Irick led the Chanticleers with 20 points.
Shamia Brown scored a game-high 26 points for High Point on 12-of-18 shooting from the floor.
Western Carolina 52, Samford 44: Makensey Campbell came off the bench to hit 3 of 4 shots from 3-point range and lead Western Carolina to a Southern Conference win over visiting Samford on Monday night.
Campbell led the Catamounts, 12-15 overall and 7-11 in conference play, with 10 points. Teammate Rena Wakama added nine for Western Carolina, which erased a 9-point halftime deficit, holding Samford to 28-percent shooting in the second half.
Paige Anderson led Samford with a game-high 11 points.
Georgia Southern 59, UNCG 47: Meredyth Frye scored a game-high 17 points on Monday night as Georgia Southern beat visiting UNC Greensboro in a Southern Conference game.
Janay Wilson scored 13 points, and Samantha Wililams added 12 for Georgia Southern, 8-19 overall and 4-14 in conference play.
Breonna Patterson scored 11 points, and Sarah Folwell added 10 for UNCG, 4-23 overall and 3-16 in conference play.

No. 13 Baylor 77, Texas 72: Quincy Acy had 22 points and 16 rebounds Monday night to power visiting Baylor to a tough win over Texas.
Baylor rallied from a 12-point deficit early in the second half, and Acy scored seven straight points to push the Bears to a 5-point lead with under three minutes to play. Johnathan Holmes made a 3-pointer to pull Texas to 71-70 before Pierre Jackson made six consecutive free throws to put the game away for Baylor (23-5, 10-5 Big 12).
