Perennial power Charlotte Providence used its depth to win its third consecutive boys title Saturday night in the NCHSAA 4-A swimming and diving championships at the Triangle Aquatic Center.

Although Providence didn't have an individual champion, it had depth and won two relays — the 200 medley and the 200 freestyle, and won its sixth title all time. Providence had 265 points to 213 for Cornelius Hough, with Raleigh Leesville Road third with 141.

In girls competition, Hough won its first girls title, with help from victories in the 200 medley relay and a new all-classification mark in the 400 free relay. Whitney Timberlake of Hough also won the diving title. Hough rolled up 314 points to finish ahead of Cary Panther Creek (190) and 2011 champion Apex (178).

Reagan's girls had the best finish among area teams, boys or girls, taking ninth with 109 points. Alexandra Marshall and Caroline Neil helped the Raiders' cause with runner-up finishes.

Marshall took second in the 100 freestyle (51.14), behind Hough's Emily Allen. Neil was the runner-up in the 100 breaststroke (1:04.51), behind Wilmington Hoggard's Ashley Brem. Marshall added a fourth-place finish in the 50 freestyle, and Neil added a fifth in the 200 IM.

In boys competition, Logan Heck of Lake Norman won individual titles in the 50 and 100 free, and Pinecrest's Kurt Wohlrab won the 100 butterfly and 100 breaststroke and was named the most outstanding boys swimmer.

Daniel Le of Northwest Guilford finished second in the 100 breaststroke (55.67), just behind Wohlrab (55.63).

Hannah Lincoln of Leesville Road won the 50 free and 100 butterfly and was most outstanding girls swimmer.

Henriette Stenkvist of Panther Creek was also a double winner, taking first in the 200 free and 100 backstroke, and Green Hope's Hannah Moore won the 200 IM and 500 free.
