ECU's Bullock, Lewis still out

East Carolina will be short-handed again because of injuries when it plays Saturday at Texas-El Paso.

Coach Ruffin McNeill said Monday that starting tailback Reggie Bullock is expected to miss his third straight game (thigh) and that top receiver Lance Lewis will miss his second straight (foot). McNeill said it's unclear if Bullock will return this season.

East Carolina (4-5, 3-2 Conference USA) is coming off a home loss to Southern Miss to determine first place in the league's East Division.

Myrtle Beach lands FCS All-Star game

The Collegiate Development Football League announced Monday that the FCS Senior Scout Bowl will be played Dec. 17 at Doug Shaw Stadium in Myrtle Beach, S.C.

The game, played for the first time last year in the New York City area, features 86 players from the Football Championship Subdivision and uses a North-South format.

The Collegiate Development Football League provides an outlet for 18- to 24-year-olds to continue playing football.

UNC-Virginia Tech game set for ESPN

ACC officials announced Monday that ESPN exercised its final six-day option of the season for five Nov. 19 games.

North Carolina will play at Virginia Tech at 8 p.m. Nov. 17 (ESPN), and Boston College will play at Notre Dame at 4 p.m. Nov. 19 (NBC).

Times and networks for the following Nov. 19 games will be announced by noon Sunday: Clemson at N.C. State; Georgia Tech at Duke; Virginia at Florida State; Maryland at Wake Forest; and Miami at South Florida.

Also Monday, East Carolina officials announced a 7 p.m. kickoff for a Nov. 19 home game against Central Florida, with TV coverage on Fox Sports.

Ex-Gamecock arrested on drug charge

Derek Watson, a former running back at South Carolina, was arrested early Sunday in Greenville County, S.C., on a marijuana distribution charge.

An arrest warrant said Watson sold about 100 grams of marijuana to an undercover Anderson County officer in March.

Greenville County records show Watson was sentenced in August to 15 years in prison, suspended upon serving 60 days in jail and three years of probation after pleading guilty to cocaine distribution.

Watson played three seasons for the Gamecocks, running for 2,078 yards and 16 touchdowns. He finished his career at S.C. State after being kicked off South Carolina's team by then coach Lou Holtz for a possession of marijuana charge.

Texas A&M's Michael out with knee injury

Running back Christine Michael will miss the rest of the season after tearing the anterior cruciate ligament in a knee in Saturday's loss to No. 7 Oklahoma. He has 899 yards rushing and eight touchdowns this season.

Rutgers changing starting QBs

Coach Greg Schiano of Rutgers said Monday that sophomore Chas Dodd will start at quarterback against Army and that freshman Gary Nova will be his backup.

Dodd came off the bench in the second half Saturday and rallied Rutgers to a 20-17 victory against South Florida.
