Coach Dave Christensen of Wyoming said that his team is trying to maintain its normal routine to help players cope with the death of a teammate and prepare for Saturday's game against No. 5 Texas.

"We think it will help the kids get their mind on something different at different points of time throughout the day," Christensen said yesterday.

Freshman linebacker Ruben Narcisse, 19, of Miami, died in a wreck Monday after he and three teammates visited friends in Fort Collins, Colo., over the weekend. Wide receiver Christian Morgan, 18, of Aurora, Colo., had surgery on his elbow and remained hospitalized yesterday.

The Colorado Highway Patrol said that the accident occurred about 5:30 a.m. Monday when the players' pickup drifted off U.S. 287 south of the Wyoming state line and crashed.

Narcisse was a passenger in the back seat. Freshman cornerback Trey Fox, 19, of Glenwood Springs, Colo., was the driver, the patrol said.

The highway, U.S. 287, is the same one where eight Wyoming track and cross-country athletes died in a collision with a pickup driven by a UW rodeo team member on Sept. 16, 2001.

● Duke announced yesterday that it will add eight sections of temporary bleachers at Wallace Wade Stadium for its Sept. 18 game against Alabama, a total of 3,904 additional seats. Kickoff will be at 3:30, with television coverage on ABC.

The temporary sections will be at field level in the north (572 seats, all general admission) and south end zones (2,180 seats), and in six sections around the concourse level.

The additional seating will take the capacity of Wallace Wade from 33,941 to 37,845 for the Duke-Alabama game.

● Illinois has indefinitely suspended defensive lineman Michael Buchanan after his arrest over the weekend on suspicion of drunken driving. The Champaign County (Ill.) state's attorney said yesterday that Buchanan, a 19-year-old sophomore, faces a preliminary charge of driving under the influence of alcohol and consumption of alcohol by a minor. Coach Ron Zook declined to discuss further details about the arrest or suspension.

● Tight end Levine Toilolo of Stanford will miss the rest of the season with a torn anterior-cruciate ligament in his right knee.

Coach Jim Harbaugh announced the injury yesterday, putting a damper on the Cardinal's first appearance in the national rankings.

Toilolo, who won the starting spot for No. 25 Stanford's opener against Sacramento State on Saturday, was injured on the game's second play.

He caught a 27-yard pass from Andrew Luck and was hit with a helmet to his knee.

● Cornerback Seth Armbrust of Arkansas is out for the rest of the season because of a left-knee injury, the university said yesterday. Armbrust, a senior who started as a walk-on and worked his way to a scholarship, was hurt Saturday in a win over Tennessee Tech. He played in 14 career games, mostly on special teams, and last season blocked a punt against East Carolina in the Liberty Bowl.

● Oregon and LSU will play at Cowboys Stadium in Arlington in the opening weekend of the 2011 season.

The Sept. 3 prime-time matchup was announced yesterday.
