Delaney, Vasquez, Scheyer All-ACC

Booker, Singler round out first team; UNC shut out for first time

Virginia Tech's Malcolm Delaney, Maryland's Greivis Vasquez and Duke's Jon Scheyer -- the top three scorers in the ACC -- are unanimous All-ACC picks.

They three were first-team selections on all 53 ballots cast by members of the Atlantic Coast Sports Media Association and all had the maximum of 159 points, with three points awarded per first-team vote. Clemson's Trevor Booker and Duke's Kyle Singler rounded out the first team in voting released yesterday.

The Blue Devils, who have the No. 1 seed for this week's tournament in Greensboro, also had a second-team pick in guard Nolan Smith, making them the only team with three players on the 15-man squad.

Virginia Tech, Wake Forest and Florida State each had two players selected, and North Carolina did not have an all-conference player for the first time in league history.

Delaney led the league with an average of 20.9 points, Vasquez -- previously a two-time second-team pick -- averaged 19.6 points and a league-best 6.3 assists to help Maryland share the regular-season title with Duke, and Scheyer averaged nearly 19 points. Wake Forest's Al-Farouq Aminu led the second team after averaging 15.9 points and 10.8 rebounds, and senior teammate Ishmael Smith also received second-team honors.

Duke's Smith, Virginia's Sylven Landesberg -- last year's rookie of the year who recently was suspended for the rest of the season because of academics issues -- and N.C. State's Tracy Smith rounded out the second team, and Georgia Tech's Gani Lawal, Virginia Tech's Dorenzo Hudson, Florida State's Chris Singleton and Solomon Alabi and Boston College's Joe Trapani made the third team.

Individual honors will be released today.
