East Surry 19, Surry Central 14: Quarterback Hunter Diamont had 328 total yards, two rushing touchdowns, and one touchdown pass to lead unbeaten East Surry past winless Surry Central last night in the Northwest 2-A/1-A conference opener for both teams in Pilot Mountain.
Diamont threw two passes and completed both, including a 10-yarder to Andrew Hunter to open the scoring in the first quarter. East Surry scored again in the second quarter with a 48-yard run by Diamont.
Surry Central got a 2-yard touchdown run by quarterback Dave Wilmoth to cut its deficit to 13-7 at halftime.
East Surry got another touchdown by Diamont, on a 2-yard run, extending its lead to 19-7 in the third quarter.
Wilmoth threw a 21-yard pass touchdown pass to Casey Felts later in the third, but could get no closer.

Starmount 14, Ashe County 7: Israel Murphy helped Starmount overcame a drenching rain to defeat Ashe County last night in Boonville and stay undefeated in Mountain Valley 2-A/1-A play.
Muphy rushed for 98 yards on 17 carries. He also caught a 29-yard touchdown pass from Jake Barr. Blaine Nicholson added a 1-yard touchdown run for Starmount.
Ashe County's Greyson Wells had 65 yard fumble return for a touchdown in in the closing minutes.

Hargrave muscled his way to 209 rushing yards on just nine carries and scored four touchdowns. Hargrave had touchdown runs of 6, 46, 76, and 60 yards.
Tyler Hughes added 166 yards on 15 carries for North. He had touchdown runs of 41 yards and 4 yards.

Charlotte Latin 52, Elkin 7: Jalen Ross ran for four touchdowns as visiting Charlotte Latin handed Elkin its first loss of the season last night.
Ross had three touchdowns in the first quarter to help Latin rally from an early 7-0 deficit. Tre Hayes, who finished with 76 yards on 15 carries, gave the Elks a brief lead with a 15-yard touchdown run in the first quarter. Latin, which improved to 5-0, came storming back behind Ross, who finished with 181 yards on 12 carries. Sam Spence added two touchdown passes for Latin, which also got a 69-yard touchdown run from Thomas Armstrong.
Cody Brown had six catches for 76 yards for Elkin.

Ledford 21, East Davidson 10: De Greene opened the scoring with a 39-yard touchdown run and Ledford never looked back in a nonconference win over East Davidson last night in Wallburg.
Greene led Ledford with 38 rushes and 178 yards. Jonathan Reid added a 1yard touchdown run, and Steven Fuquay had a 1-yard touchdown pass to Jonathan Shelton for the Panthers.
East Davidson got 9-yard touchdown run from Dylan Gallimore and a 24-yard field goal from Taylor Warren. Gallimore led East with 14 rushes for 125 yards.

High Point Central 20, East Forsyth 14: Akeem Langham turned in a solid night's work as a two-way performer to lead High Point Central to victory over East Forsyth in the Piedmont Triad 4-A Conference opener for both teams last night in Kernersville.
Langham contributed a drive-killing interception, a game-changing forced fumble and he also caught a touchdown pass. Quarterback Drew Adams completed 12 of 21 passes for 164 yards and two scores, and running back Lashuran Monk had 19 carries for 115 yards and a touchdown. Derek Grant was Adams' favorite receiver with eight catches for 102 yards and one score.
East Forsyth took a 7-0 lead in the first quarter on Erick Smith's 15-yard touchdown toss to Chase Kellum. The Eagles pulled to within six late in the game when Monk fumbled and Matt Brown picked up the loose ball and ran it back 75 yards for a score.

Marty DeFrancesco led McGuinness with 10 carries for 114 yards and two touchdowns. He also ran a kickoff back 86 yards for a touchdown.
Josh Rathburn had nine carries for 111 yards and two touchdowns for McGuinness, and Thomas Lawler added eight carries for 85 yards and two touchdowns.
