MYRTLE BEACH, S.C.

Myrtle Beach scored three runs in the bottom of the eighth inning off reliever Tyson Corley, rallying for a 5-4 win over Winston-Salem last night.

Adam Milligan drove in two runs with a two-out single off Corley for the go-ahead runs, and Benino Poreda (2-3), who entered the game in the top of the eighth inning, retired the side in order to preserve the win.

The Dash wasted a solid effort by starting pitcher Anthony Carter, who scattered seven hits and allowed two runs in seven innings with no walks and four strikeouts before leaving with a 4-2 lead.

Michael Fisher singled with one out in the eighth inning to start the rally and went to third on a double by Donnell Linares.

Fisher came in to score when Gerardo Rodriguez grounded out to third base for the second out of the inning, cutting the deficit to 4-3.

Jesus Sucre followed with a walk, and advanced to second base on a wild pitch that also allowed Linares to get to third.

Milligan followed with his game-winning hit to right field that brought home Linares and Sucre.

The Dash was cruising with a 3-0 lead in the fourth inning when Rodriguez hit a two-run home run to make the score 3-2.

Winston-Salem took a 4-2 lead in the sixth inning when Justin Greene scored on a wild pitch by Yeliar Castro. Greene walked to lead off the inning, stole second base and then advanced to third on a throwing error by catcher Jace Whitmer of Myrtle Beach.

Winston-Salem and Myrtle Beach will play the third game of the four-game series tonight at 6 o'clock.
