WFU soccer team wins 3-0

Senior forward Zack Schilawski scored two goals to lead No. 3 Wake Forest to a 3-0 win over South Carolina last night at Stone Stadium.

The Deacons improved to 10-2-2, while the Gamecocks fell to 7-5-2. The Deacons also ran their road record to 7-0 this season.

Schilawski had his second multi-goal game of the season, scoring his team-leading seventh and eighth goals of the season. Schilawski now has 34 goals in his Wake Forest career, putting him fifth in school history. He also has 85 points in his career, moving him into fifth place in Wake Forest history.

Chris Estridge scored the first goal of his college career for the Deacons. Estridge gave the Deacons a 3-0 lead with a goal in the 79th minute.

Akira Fitzgerald got his fourth shutout of the season. Fitzgerald made two saves on the way to his 10th win of the season.

Wake Forest held a commanding 21-8 edge in shots in the match, including a 15-3 edge in the second half. Wake Forest had 11 shots on goal, compared to two for South Carolina.
