Reynolds 5, Charlotte Ardrey Kell 1: Reynolds won five of its six singles matches yesterday, cruising past Charlotte Ardrey Kell in the first round of the Class 4-A state tournament at Hanes Park.

Mount Tabor 6, NW Guilford 0: Mount Tabor swept all six singles matches, defeating Northwest Guilford in the Class 4-A state tournament in Greensboro.

Union Grove 3, Greenville Trinity Christian 0: Mason Marshall scored two goals as Union Grove defeated visiting Greenville Trinity Christian last night in the quarterfinals of the Class 2-A state tournament.

NCHSAA golf

Central 3-A/2-A/1-A Regional: Four area girls, including two from Forbush, qualified for next week's state championships as individuals Monday at Statesville Country Club.
Forbush's Leslie Long shot 86, and teammate Jensen Pendry shot 98 to secure individual berths. Also advancing were Katie Nance of East Davidson (91) and Tori McGowan of Mount Airy (97).
