Bridget Sloan wore gold, Rebecca Bross wore silver.

It couldn't have been any closer, with Bross' fall on her final tumbling pass the difference.
Sloan, the lone holdover from the U.S. team that won the silver medal in Beijing, finished with 57.825 points. Bross, competing at her first world championships after turning 16 in July, scored 57.775 points.
Koko Tsurimi gave Japan a rare medal in the women's all-around, winning the bronze.
Nastia Liukin and Shawn Johnson went to the Beijing Olympics as favorites for the gold medal, and they lived up to the billing, with Liukin beating Johnson. With both taking breaks from gymnastics, Bross and Sloan came to London with similar expectations.
Golf
■ Dan Forsman reeled off six straight birdies en route to an 8-under 64 and a one-shot lead after the first round of the Champions Tour Administaff Small Business Classic yesterday in The Woodlands, Texas.
John Cook was next at 7-under 65, two better than Jay Don Blake, Mark Wiebe, Nick Price and Bob Tway. Bernhard Langer was among five players another shot back at 68.
■ Chad Campbell closed with an eagle on the par-5 ninth for a 9-under 62 and a share of the second-round lead with Troy Matteson in the PGA Tour's Justin Timberlake Shriners Hospitals for Children Open yesterday in Las Vegas.
Matteson followed his career-best 62 with a 67 to match Campbell at 13-under 129.
Matt Kuchar shot a 64 to join Ryan Moore (63), Bob Heintz (67) and Martin Laird (67) at 12 under. Moore eagled the par-5 16th.
