Florida State 29, Maryland 26: Freshman Lonnie Pryor ran for two touchdowns, including a 3-yard run with 32 seconds left, and Florida State beat Maryland yesterday in Tallahassee, Fla., to become bowl eligible for the 28th straight year.
Pryor's winning score was set up by a 48-yard punt return by freshman Greg Reid that gave the Seminoles the ball at the Maryland 44 with 1:35 left. Pryor also scored on a 50-yard run in the second quarter to give Florida State a 14-3 lead.
The Seminoles (6-5, 4-4 ACC) handed Maryland (2-9, 1-6) its sixth straight loss.
Maryland's Davin Meggett scored his second touchdown on a 9-yard run with 4:29 remaining that gave the Terrapins a 26-22 lead.
Maryland's defense intercepted Florida State freshman EJ Manuel three times, the last one by Cameron Chism with 2:57 left that seemed to shut the door on the Seminoles.
But the Terrapins were unable to run out the clock and Reid, the ACC's leading punt returner, gave the Seminoles some momentum with his return to set up the winning drive. Reid returned three punts for 88 yards and now has 350 yards on 19 returns going into next week's game at top-ranked Florida.
S.C. State 28, N.C. A&T 10: Malcolm Long passed for two touchdowns and ran for another as S.C. State beat N.C. A&T yesterday in Orangeburg, S.C.
Long was 18 for 31 for 222 yards passing, with three interceptions. Malcolm threw touchdown passes of 12 and 49 yards to TreOliver Young, who had six catches for 123 yards.
The Aggies (4-6, 2-5) finish the season on a three-game losing streak. The Bulldogs held an advantage of 458-166 in total yards.
Elon 27, Samford 7: Terrell Hudgins caught 11 passes for 144 yards and a touchdown to help Elon beat Samford yesterday in Birmingham, Ala.
Scott Riddle went 27 for 42 for 278 yards passing, including a 10-yard touchdown pass to Hudgins to give the Phoenix (9-2, 7-1 Southern Conference) a 10-0 lead in the second quarter.
N.C. Central 35, Savannah State 14: Michael Johnson threw four touchdown passes and N.C. Central defeated Savannah State yesterday in Durham.
Johnson, who was 15 of 23 for 233 yards, broke a 7-7 tie on a 56-yard pass to Will Scott with 12:17 left in the second quarter.
Gardner-Webb 21, Presbyterian 14: Patrick Hall rushed for 114 yards and two touchdowns to lead Gardner-Webb past Presbyterian yesterday in Clinton, S.C.
Hall scored on a 2-yard run with 3:28 left in the first quarter to give Gardner-Webb (6-5, 3-3 Big South) a 7-0 lead, and darted 49 yards with 1:16 left in the game for a 21-7 lead.
Jacksonville 34, Campbell 14: Josh McGregor threw two touchdowns and Jacksonville routed Campbell yesterday in Buies Creek.
Georgia Southern 13, The Citadel 6: Adrian Mora kicked two field goals and Georgia Southern had two interceptions and recovered a fumble as the Eagles defeated The Citadel yesterday in Statesboro, Ga.
Furman 58, Wofford 21: Tyler Sorrells passed for 272 yards and a career-high five touchdowns and Furman defeated Wofford yesterday in Greenville, S.C.

Wesley 55, N.C. Wesleyan 23: Shane McSweeny passed for 299 yards and ran for 103 more to lead Wesley past N.C. Wesleyan in the opening round yesterday in Dover, Del.
Bo Jordan completed 25 of 46 passes for 333 yards and two touchdowns, both of them to Orlando Webb.
Webb made eight receptions for 167 yards.

Carson-Newman 59, West Alabama 21: Buck Wake Field rushed for 119 yards and a touchdown and Alex Good ran for 118 yards and two touchdowns to lead Carson-Newman past West Alabama in the second round yesterday in Jefferson City, Tenn.
Good also completed 7 of 11 passes for 208 yards and three touchdowns for the Eagles, who scored 49 points in the second half.
