■ Freshman Julianna Prim (Starmount '09) continues to rewrite the record book for the Pfeiffer women's swim team. She set her seventh individual record Nov. 7 when the Falcons defeated Converse and Lenoir-Rhyne. Prim's latest record-breaker came in the 400-yard individual medley as she finished with a time of 4:39.57 -- and a 13-second margin of victory over her closest challenger. Prim also won the 100-yard butterfly and was on two winning relay teams.
Prim had another solid performance Saturday against Catawba, finishing first in the 200 freestyle (1:54.14) and 100 freestyle (53.39 seconds).
■ Limestone's Ashley Alderin-Fleagle (East Forsyth '08) was named to the Conference Carolinas All-Tournament team in soccer after helping Limestone to a 1-0 shutout of Pfeiffer in the first round.
Alderin-Fleagle, a midfielder, started in all 19 games this season for Limestone. She had winning goals against Coker, Barton, and Converse. She also had three assists and helped Limestone to a team goals-against average of 1.89 and three shutouts.
■ Carson-Newman's Carly Mozgai (Northwest Guilford '07) was selected to the All-South Atlantic Conference volleyball second team last week. Mozgai is averaging 2.65 kills per set and has a .250 hitting percentage after missing the first 13 matches with an injury. She was All-SAC second-team for the second year in a row.
Carson-Newman (22-9) is the fourth seed for the NCAA Division II Southeast Regional and will take on Catawba on Friday in a region quarterfinal.
■ Senior Jasmine Chunn (Forbush '06) of the Catawba volleyball team finished the regular season with a hitting percentage of .316, tied for the best in the South Atlantic Conference.
■ Lenoir-Rhyne's volleyball team ended its season with a loss to Carson-Newman in the SAC Tournament last week despite a fine effort from Chelsea Hill (West Davidson '08). Hill had 10 kills in the four-game match and averaged 2.06 kills a game on the season. She also led the team with 72 blocks.
Freshman Katelin Wensley (Davie County '09) also averaged more than two kills a game (2.02) for Lenoir-Rhyne this season.
■ Freshman L.J. Scott (North Davidson '09) had a key special-teams play in N.C. Wesleyan's 49-27 win over Averett on Saturday.
After N.C. Wesleyan scored a touchdown with 2:54 left in the second quarter and tied the game 21-21, Averett fumbled the kickoff.
Scott recovered the ball at Averett's 43-yard line, setting up a touchdown with 41 seconds left in the first half to put N.C. Wesleyan up for good.
The Bishops (8-2) finished undefeated in the USA South Conference (7-0) and made the NCAA Division III playoffs.
N.C. Wesleyan will play at Wesley College (Del.) in a first-round game at noon Saturday.
■ Duke sophomore Alex King (Forsyth Country Day '07) made his college-football debut against Georgia Tech last Saturday.
King punted six times for an average of 37.8 yards, with a long kick of 49 yards. He put two punts inside the Georgia Tech 20-yard line.
