Games to watch
• Patriots (6-2) at Colts (8-0): The skinny: This is one of the top-tier rivalries of the salary-cap era, with the two having exchanged blows in a pile of playoff games since the turn of the millennium. And what else do you need?
Both teams play smart, they both have quarterbacks bound for Canton who also wear Super Bowl rings and no matter the roster turnover, they just keep winning.
The difference will be: If the Colts can keep the ball long enough on offense to protect their battered secondary.
Patriots quarterback Tom Brady could certainly feast on a group that's missing safety Bob Sanders and cornerback Marlin Jackson. So while Peyton Manning always fuels the Colts' offense, running backs Joseph Addai and Donald Brown may determine the outcome in this one.
• Bengals (6-2) at Steelers (6-2): While the Bengals did win the matchup earlier this season, the Steelers have won five of the past six games between these two and 14 of the past 19.
The Steelers also have won five straight since that Sept. 27 loss in Cincinnati and a big reason why is quarterback Ben Roethlisberger has 11 touchdown passes in those five wins while running back Rashard Mendenhall has 528 of his 573 yards rushing this season in those five wins.
• Eagles (5-3) at Chargers (5-3): A San Diego win and the Chargers come to Denver next weekend with a chance to put themselves, at minimum, in a first-place tie with the Broncos after having been three games back a month ago.
These teams haven't played in San Diego since 1998, when Natrone Means was running the ball for the Chargers.
