Students injured at S.C. game

»  Comments | Post a Comment

UNION, S.C.

Authorities said last night that a wall collapsed at a high-school football playoff game in South Carolina and 12 students were taken to a hospital. Union County Sheriff's Cpl. Randy Manus said that students were leaning against a concrete wall as a television crew filmed the fans just after halftime of last night's game between Union and J.L. Mann.

Manus said that students fell about six feet to the ground.

Manus said that besides those taken to the hospital, another 15 students had cuts and bruises. He did not know the conditions of those taken to the hospital.

He said that the students were Union fans. The game resumed after a delay.
