The sixth-ranked Wake Forest field-hockey team downed No. 9 Boston College 5-2 yesterday.

Wake Forest is now 11-5 and 2-3 in the ACC and clinched the No. 4 seed for the ACC Tournament. Wake Forest will face Boston College (13-5, 1-4) in the opening round of the tournament on Thursday in Charlottesville.

The WFU seniors scored four of the team's five goals yesterday. Raisa Schiller teamed with sophomore Kaitlin Piosa on a breakaway run. Piosa outran the BC defenders, got open and sent the ball to Schiller, who tapped it in two minutes into regulation.

In the 15th minute, Kim Romansky tapped in a shot from Liza Casella on a penalty-corner attempt to put WFU up 2-0. Hilary Moore added the final goal of the half in the 30th minute.

BC's Chelsey Feole scored to open scoring in the second half.
