Nationals 5, Braves 3: Atlanta's Tommy Hanson extended his scoreless innings streak to 26 before Adam Dunn's 300th career homer and the Nationals scored four eighth-inning runs and beat the visiting Braves yesterday.
Hanson left with a 3-1 lead after seven innings and was in line for his fifth straight win before the Braves bullpen blew up, halting Atlanta's winning streak at a season-high five.
Phillies 4, Mets 1: Jamie Moyer pitched into the seventh inning, Jimmy Rollins hit a two-run double and Philadelphia beat visiting New York yesterday.
Moyer (7-6) allowed one run and five hits in 61/3 innings to win his third straight start. Moyers, 46, tied Carl Hubbell for 42nd on the all-time list with his 253rd career win.
Mets starter Fernando Nieve (3-2) took the loss.
Reds 5, Cardinals 2: Micah Owings homered and pitched into the seventh inning to help Cincinnati beat visiting St. Louis yesterday.
Joey Votto also homered and drove in two runs and Willy Taveras had three hits to help lift the Reds to their third win in their last four games. Owings (6-8) allowed six hits and two runs in 62/3 innings with two walks and six strikeouts.
Francisco Cordero pitched the ninth for his 20th save.
Giants 9, Astros 0: Tim Lincecum ran his career-best scoreless innings streak to 23 in winning his third straight start and also scored a run in San Francisco's win against visiting Houston yesterday.
Lincecum struck out nine and allowed three hits with two walks in seven innings. Brandon Medders and Merkin Valdez each pitched an inning to finish the three-hit shutout, the Giants' 11th and fourth in their last seven games.
Marlins 5, Pirates 3: Hanley Ramirez homered and Andrew Miller pitched well into the seventh inning as Florida beat visiting Pittsburgh last night.
Emilio Bonifacio had three hits and scored twice for Florida, which has won four of five. Dan Meyer pitched a scoreless ninth to get his second save.
Miller (3-4) allowed three runs, seven hits, one walk and struck out four.
