NCHSAA Class 1-A boys

Winston-Salem Prep 63, West Montgomery 57: Jamal McNeil and Justin Parham each had 12 points to help Winston-Salem Prep beat West Montgomery in the semifinals of the West Sectional 1 in Mount Gilead.

Corey Gantt tacked on 10 points for the Phoenix, who let a 19-point halftime lead dwindle down to two points in the fourth quarter before hanging on for the win.

Derek Richardson led all scorers with 17 points for West Montgomery.

Bishop McGuinness 91, Thomasville 74: Aaron Toomey had 29 points, 10 rebounds and 10 assists to help Bishop McGuinness down visiting Thomasville last night in a West Sectional 1 semifinal last night.

Ross Diachenko had 25 points for McGuinness and Steve Nealand finished with 18 points, hitting six 3-pointers. Dee Dow led Thomasville with 22 points.

Mount Airy 70, Jordan Matthews 63: Wade Moody and Robbie Rives had 21 points apiece and Mount Airy held off Jordan Matthews in the West Sectional 2 semifinals in Siler City.

Dillon Bobbitt and Justin Collier chipped in 10 points each for the Bears.

Ashe County 78, Providence Grove 60: Tommy Spagnolo had 20 points, 18 rebounds and five assists as Ashe County defeated Providence Grove in a West Sectional 1 semifinal last night.

Daniel Waln led Ashe County with a game-high 25 points. Tatum Lemly added 13 points.

Gerry Hairston led North Forsyth with 14 points and Bronell Cannady added 10.
