Parkland 75, Porter Ridge 6: Parkland advanced easily through the first round of the NCHSAA's Class 3-A dual team wrestling tournament, but was unable to wrestle its second-round match last night at Charlotte Catholic when it was postponed by snow.
Parkland, the two-time defending state champion, hammered Indian Trail Porter Ridge, and Anson County beat Charlotte Catholic in the first round. Coach Maurice Atwood of Parkland said he was told after the completion of the first round that his team needed to drive back to Winston-Salem.
Atwood said that the NCHSAA would determine the site of Parkland's second-round match against Anson County sometime today, and that it will be wrestled tonight, weather permitting. The third and fourth rounds of the tournament are scheduled for Thursday night.

Postponements: The winter weather that moved through the state yesterday resulted in some postponements of matches in the NCHSAA's dual team-wrestling playoffs, including two rounds at Davie County.
The postponed matches will be held tonight, starting around 6 p.m. At Davie County, Davie will take on South Caldwell and Morganton Freedom will take on High Point Central. The winners of those two matches will then wrestle each other in the second round.
Northwest Guilford's match at Mallard Creek was also postponed until tonight, as was High Point Andrews' match against Trinity at Southwestern Randolph.
