Panthers: Reserve running back Tyrell Sutton won't play against the New York Giants today because of a calf injury.
Sutton didn't travel yesterday, a day after the team listed him as doubtful for the game.
Starting running back DeAngelo Williams was also doubtful with a sprained left ankle, although he made the trip to New York. His backup, Jonathan Stewart, replaced Williams in the first quarter last Sunday against Minnesota and rushed for 109 yards and a touchdown.
Panthers: Police say a man wanted for cyberstalking may be the same person pretending to be Carolina Panthers left tackle Travelle Wharton.
A misdemeanor cyberstalking warrant has been issued for Christon Brewer, who has lived in Charlotte and Monroe.
The Panthers announced last week that a Wharton impostor defrauded a handful of people out of about $25,000 in bogus investment scams over the past year.
Charlotte-Mecklenburg police Sgt. Walter Bowling said yesterday that Brewer used an alias of Travelle Wharton and is a "person of interest" relating to the impersonation investigation of the Panthers player.
No arrests have been made.
Bears: Receiver Devin Hester is questionable to return Monday against the Minnesota Vikings after missing two games with a strained left calf.
Hester practiced on a limited basis this week for the first time since he was injured against St. Louis on Dec. 6.
Punter Brad Maynard did not practice yesterday and is also questionable with a left groin injury. Also questionable are defensive end Gaines Adams with an ankle and safety Al Afalava with a knee.
Safety Kevin Payne is doubtful with an ankle injury.
Browns: The Cleveland game today against the Oakland Raiders will be televised locally.
The Browns announced yesterday that the team had averted a local blackout within a 75-mile radius. The team said it had distributed a portion of remaining tickets to a range of local civic organizations.
Some tickets are still available for purchase by the general public.
The Browns haven't had a blackout since the final game of 1995, the team's last before former owner Art Modell moved his franchise to Baltimore.
After facing the Raiders, the Browns will conclude this season at home against Jacksonville.
Seahawks: Seattle has signed wide receiver Mike Hass from the practice squad and waived defensive end Derek Walker. Seattle made the moves ahead of today's game at Green Bay.
Hass is insurance with Seattle short-handed at receiver. Nate Burleson is doubtful for today's game with a high-ankle sprain and Ben Obomanu is questionable with a hamstring strain.
Titans: Tennessee's improbable playoff dreams are finished for this season. Now it's back to reality with goals quickly set on two other historic marks.
Finish 8-8, which no NFL team has ever managed after starting a season with six straight losses. And get Chris Johnson to 2,000 yards rushing, making him only the sixth player in league history to reach that mark.
Johnson says reaching 2,000 would mean a lot to him. He currently has 1,872 yards, and he isn't giving up on Eric Dickerson's single-season rushing record of 2,105 yards either. He would need 234 yards Jan. 3 at Seattle.
But his teammates are committed to getting him there along with one final win. Tight end Bo Scaife says Johnson deserves that mark.
