No. 7 Duke 79, No. 24 James Madison 65: Joy Cheek scored a career-high 21 points to help Duke defeat James Madison last night in Durham.
Jasmine Thomas added 13 points and 11 rebounds for the Blue Devils (8-2), who pulled away on the strength of a 14-2 run early in each half. Keturah Jackson scored 10 points for Duke.
The Blue Devils, who led 44-34 at halftime, built their biggest lead at 70-47 on a leaner in the lane by Shay Selby with 8:40 remaining.
Dawn Evans capped a 13-2 spurt with a 3-pointer to cut James Madison's deficit to 72-60, but the Dukes got no closer.
Evans scored 31 points to lead James Madison (7-1), which won its first seven games for the first time since the 1996-97 season. Sarah Williams scored 16 points and Tarik Hislop added 10 points for the Dukes.
No. 25 Georgia Tech 94, Kennesaw State 48: Mo Bennett had a career-high 23 points to lead five double-figures scorers and added 11 rebounds as visiting Georgia Tech routed Kennesaw State last night.
Deja Foster had 16 points and seven assists for the Yellow Jackets (8-2). Jasmine Blain added 13 points and Brigitte Ardossi and Chelsea Regins each scored 11.
Brandi Jones scored 13 points and Sametria Gideon added 12 for Kennesaw (4-5). The Owls shot 28 percent.
Georgia Tech shot 54.8 percent in the first half while building a 48-18 lead.
The Yellow Jackets rested leading scorer Alex Montgomery, who is coming back from knee surgery. She has played in just half of Georgia Tech's 10 games, averaging 12.2 points. She scored 16 on Wednesday against Oregon. Georgia Tech is home to Arizona on Sunday.

Longwood 76, High Point 68: Crystal Smith had 16 points and nine rebounds to lead visiting Longwood past High Point last night.
Shamia Brown led High Point with 17 points and 12 rebounds.

Akron 83, UNC Greensboro 59: Anthony "Humpty" Hitchens scored 14 points and Akron cruised past visiting UNC Greensboro last night.
Hitchens played only 16 minutes, coming off the bench to shoot 6 for 9 from the field for the Zips (6-3), who have won six of their last seven games.
Akron used a 14-0 run, holding the Spartans scoreless for 5:30 early in the first half, to take a double-digits lead. UNC Greensboro (2-7) never got closer than eight and trailed by as many as 32 in the second half.
The Spartans, who have lost three straight, shot 35.3 percent from the field (18 for 51) while the Zips shot 58.9 percent (33 for 56).
Chris McKnight added 12 points for Akron and Brett McKnight and Brett McClanahan had 11 each.
Brandon Evans, a transfer from East Carolina, had 13 points for the Spartans and has scored in double figures in six of the last seven games.
S.C. State 93, Furman 91 (OT): Carrio Bennett made a three-point play with 4 seconds left in overtime and S.C. State defeated Furman last night in Greenville, S.C.
Bennett was one of five Bulldogs (6-2) in double figures as Jason Flagler scored 19, Darnell Porter and Brandon Small had 16 each and Arsenio Williams added 16 points and 12 rebounds.
Furman's Neil Duval tied the game at 90 on two free throws with 21 seconds left in overtime. Bennett then put the Bulldogs ahead 93-90, and the Paladins' Darryl Evans went to the free throw line with 3 seconds left. He made the first shot, missed the second and Jordan Miller grabbed the offensive rebound. However, Furman (5-4) couldn't get off a shot. Evans finished with 19 points.
Justin Dehm's layup with 2 seconds left in regulation sent the game into OT. Ahead 77-75, the Bulldogs' Khalif Toombs missed two free throws with 10 seconds left.
