No. 22 Michigan State 72, No. 4 North Carolina 66: Allyssa DeHaan scored all of her 14 points in the second half to help Michigan State hold off visiting North Carolina last night.
Lauren Aitch had 15 points for the Spartans (5-2), and Aisha Jefferson had 13.
Italee Lucas scored 29 points for UNC (5-1).
Michigan State led by 11 points in the second half before North Carolina rallied to take a 64-63 lead on Trinity Bursey's 3-pointer with about 2:30 left.
DeHaan's jumper with 2:11 left put Michigan State back ahead for good, 65-64.

No. 12 Florida State 82, Indiana 74: Courtney Ward scored 20 points to lead four players in double figures last night as Florida State beat Indiana.
Jacinta Monroe added 17 points, Alysha Harvin 15 and Cierra Bravard 12 for the Seminoles (7-0), who outscored the Hoosiers 14-5 over the final 3 minutes.
Jori Davis scored 23 points to lead Indiana (4-3).

No. 14 Virginia 56, Purdue 49: Ariana Moorer scored 11 points and fellow reserve Lexie Gerson had 11 to help Virginia overcome its poor shooting in a victory over Purdue last night.
The Cavaliers (6-1) closed the game with an 8-2 run.

Maryland 66, Minnesota 45: Kim Rodgers scored 14 points, and Maryland (7-1) won its 43rd straight home game last night, defeating cold-shooting and visiting Minnesota (5-3).

Clemson 69, Northwestern 68: With six seconds to play, junior Kirstyn Wright hit a 3-pointer to lift visiting Clemson (5-3) past Northwestern (5-2). Wright had a career-high 22 points, including 6-8 from behind the arc.

Michigan 71, Virginia Tech 51: Veronica Hicks' 19 points paced four Wolverines in double figures as visiting Michigan (5-2) beat Virginia Tech (4-3)
Redshirt junior guard Nikki Davis led Tech with 11 points.

Wisconsin 53, N.C. State 48: Visiting Wisconsin (7-1) was too physical for the Wolfpack, holding a 39-29 rebounding advantage, as it beat N.C. State last night.
Bonae Holston led N.C. State (5-3) with 13 points.

Top 25

No. 1 Connecticut 84, Vermont 42: Maya Moore scored 20 points as Connecticut (7-0) routed visiting Vermont (4-1) last night in a rematch of last year's first-round NCAA tournament game.
Tina Charles added 18 points and nine rebounds. Her 1,059 rebounds are second on the school's all-time list behind Rebecca Lobo.

No. 9 Xavier 80, Middle Tennessee 63: Ta'Shia Phillips had her fourth double-double of the season while dominating inside, and Xavier (6-0) matched the best start in its history last night with a victory over visiting Middle Tennessee (3-3).

No. 18 Oklahoma 100, Texas-Arlington 67: Carlee Roethlisberger scored a career-high 29 points in her second start and Oklahoma (5-2) used a second-half push to defeated visiting Texas-Arlington last night.

No. 24 Kansas 54, UCLA 49: Danielle McCray scored 15 points and Krysten Boogaard added 12 as Kansas (5-2) beat visiting UCLA (4-3) last night.

No. 2 Texas 69, USC 50: Damion James scored 19 points and Texas defended its highest ranking in school history with a victory over visiting Southern California last night.
Dexter Pittman scored 13 points for the Longhorns (6-0) and his seven blocks were one short of the school record.

Texas Tech 99, No. 12 Washington 92 (OT): John Roberson scored a season-high 25 points and Texas Tech (8-0) withstood an official review at the end of regulation that took away a 3-pointer for a victory over visiting Washington (5-1) last night in a matchup of unbeaten teams.
Quincy Pondexter scored a career-high 31 points for the Huskies.

Davidson 74, The Citadel 63: Will Archambault scored 21 points last night as visiting Davidson beat The Citadel last night in the Southern Conference opener for both teams.

High Point 63, Presbyterian 61: Tehran Cox went coast-to-coast for a layup at the buzzer as High Point beat Presbyterian last night. Nick Barbour led the Panthers with 25 points, including 13 in the second half.

Samford 55, Elon 31: Josh Davis scored 12 points and Bryan Friday added 11 points last night as Samford beat visiting Elon in a Southern Conference opener. Josh Bonney led the Phoenix with nine points.

College of Charleston 68, Georgia Southern 59: Andrew Goudelock scored 19 points and the College of Charleston (2-3) rallied to defeat visiting Georgia Southern (3-5) last night in the Southern Conference opener for both teams.

Radford 61, Winthrop 59 (OT): Art Parakhouski had 21 points and 14 rebounds last night to lead visiting Radford (3-2) to an overtime win over Winthrop (2-4) in a Big South Conference opener.

Liberty 69, Charleston Southern 53: Evan Gordon scored 21 points to lead Liberty (4-5) past visiting Charleston Southern (4-3) last night in the Big South Conference opener for both teams.
