Zack Schilawski scored two goals as No. 1 Wake Forest defeated Elon 3-0 last night at Rhodes Stadium.
The Deacons (9-0) took a 1-0 lead at 15:16 when Schilawski scored off assists from Corben Bone and Jamie Franks. The Deacons took the 1-0 lead into halftime, then pushed it to 2-0 when Schilawski scored his second goal off assists from Austin da Luz and Marcus Tracy at 58:29.
Wake Forest scored its final goal at 64:37 when Cody Arnoux shot the ball past goalkeeper Clint Irwin with an assist by Tracy. The Deacons outshot the Phoenix (2-7-1) 21-5. Goalkeeper Akira Fitzgerald had three saves for the Deacons.
Wake Forest is off until Saturday, when it is scheduled to play Virginia Tech at Spry Stadium at 7 p.m.
