HIGH POINT A Medicare agency may withdraw funding for High Point Regional Hospital over how a potentially suicidal patient was treated, though hospital officials say they will take measures to address the matter before the funding would be taken away next month.
Details of what happened weren't released. The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services in Atlanta has notified High Point Regional that it risks losing access to Medicare funding effective Feb. 11. Medicare funding is integral, making up about half of the hospital's revenues, Dr. Greg Taylor, chief operating officer for High Point Regional, told the High Point Enterprise.
