Thomasville bakery robbed

THOMASVILLE

A man armed with a handgun robbed a bakery Monday night.

Thomasville police said an employee of Merita Bakery at 803 Julian Ave. told officers that a man with a handgun in his waistband entered the store shortly before 7 p.m. and demanded money. Police said the man later walked out with an undisclosed amount of cash.

Police described the robber as a white man with gray hair between 40 and 50 years old. He stands about 5-foot-8, weighs 175 to 200 pounds and wore a tan jacket, a plaid shirt and dark blue pants.

No injuries were reported.
