Gov. Bev Perdue said today that Carolina Precision Plastics LLC will open a new facility in Mocksville.
The plastics manufacturer plans to create 140 jobs and invest $5.3 million during the next three years. The project was made possible in part by a $250,000 grant from the One North Carolina Fund.
The average annual wage for the new jobs will be $39,183 plus benefits. The Davie County average annual wage is $28,808.
Carolina Precision Plastics has 280 employees in Greensboro and Asheboro.
"Our history of investing in education and workforce training have helped create a business climate that enables companies like Carolina Precision Plastics to expand and thrive," Gov. Perdue said. "We must continue to build an educated, skilled workforce in order for North Carolina to compete in this global economy."
Carolina Precision Plastics operates as CPP Global. The privately held company has manufacturing plants in North Carolina, Connecticut and China. The company makes a variety of injection molded and blow molded products for the cosmetics and pharmaceutical industries.
