Occupy Winston-Salem plans protest of Wells Fargo, Reynolds American

»  Comments | Post a Comment

Occupy Winston-Salem is planning to protest outside the offices of Wells Fargo and Reynolds American in downtown Winston-Salem on Feb. 29 as part of the National Day of Protest.

Occupy Winston-Salem is planning to protest Wells Fargo, 100 N. Main St., in downtown Winston-Salem, that day from 7 to 9 a.m., and to protest Reynolds American, 401 N. Main St., from 4 to 6 p.m., also downtown.

Occupy Winston-Salem plans to protest Reynolds American because of the company's involvement with the American Legislative Exchange Council, a collective of state legislators from around the country. Reynolds Vice President David Powers is treasurer of the council's private enterprise board.

Occupy groups across the country have protested against several banks to make statements against "corporate greed" and executive salaries.
