County postpones plan to introduce drug card

»  Comments | Post a Comment

The Forsyth County Board of Commissioners voted this evening to postpone introducing a prescription drug card that its advocates say would give a price break to uninsured residents.

Dave Marley, a local druggist, said after the unanimous vote that he was pleased that the board had postponed action.

Marley opposes the issuance of the card because the discount drug program is administered by CVS Caremark, a competitor.

Several commissioners said they wanted to learn more about the discount card program before making a decision.
