Krispy Kreme, other vendors offer deals for National Doughnut Day

»  Comments | Post a Comment

In observance of National Doughnut Day, participating Krispy Kreme shops will give one free doughnut to anyone who visits. The five Triad-area Krispy Kreme shops will have red kettles by the register to accept donations to support The Salvation Army.

The Salvation Army in Chicago established National Doughnut Day in 1938 to raise money to help the poor during the Great Depression and to honor Salvation Army volunteers who prepared doughnuts and other food for thousands of soldiers during World War I.
