Man dies day after motorcycle wreck

A Belews Creek man who wrecked his motorcycle while trying to avoid a collision with a line of stopped cars on Old Hollow Road on Tuesday has died, police said today

Old Hollow Road. Allan Dwight Dowe, 57, of 6101 Belews Creek Drive, died Wednesday. Dowe's wife found him dead in their home after she went to get some medicine for him, police said.

A Forsyth County medical examiner determined that Dowe died as a result from a blood clot that formed after the crash.

Dowe had been taken to Forsyth Medical Center after the wreck and was treated and released.

Dowe's death marks the 14th traffic fatality in the city this year. At this point, last year there were 15.
