JOURNAL REPORTER
Two Wake Forest cornerbacks who saw little opportunity for playing significant roles this season have left the team, Coach Jim Grobe said today.
Redshirt junior Michael Williams will remain in school but concentrate on academics with a goal of graduating in the spring. Redshirt freshman D.J. Jones left school Aug. 24, one day before the start of the fall semester, with plans to transfer to another program, but Grobe said he did not know the destination.
Williams played in 13 games and started the first four games of 2009 before Kenny Okoro became the starter. Jones spent last season as a redshirt.
