Stokes County authorities are investigating an apparent murder-suicide involving a Danbury couple.
Deputies went to 1110 Chestnut Ridge Lane on Tuesday and found the bodies of Loretta Ann Campbell, 53, and Ray Allen Collingwood, 53.
Both appeared to have gunshot wounds.
Stokes County Sheriff's Capt. Craig Carico said it appears that Collingwood shot Campbell before killing himself, but the investigation is not complete.
An autopsy is scheduled to be performed today at Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center.
Carico said officers went to the home in a rural part of northern Stokes County after Campbell's employer asked them to check on her.
