A 15-year-old boy was shot early Saturday while sitting in a car on East 28th Street, police said.
The shooting occurred just before 4 a.m. The victim told police that he was in a car with three other people when someone in a nearby silver car started shooting at them.
The boy was shot twice in the shoulder and also injured his head during the shooting. He was taken to Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center for injuries that were not considered life-threatening.
No one else in the car was injured.
A description of the shooter was not available.
