"The Seven Last Words of Christ," an oratorio by Theodore Dubois, will be performed by soloists Priscilla Oldaker, Neal Holladay and Laverne Mohl. The United Methodist Women of Bethel United Methodist Church, 2390 Bethel Church Road, will hold their annual spring chicken-pie and baked-goods sale from 8-11 a.m. next Saturday. Cost is $15 to enter chili in one of three categories, and $5 for each additional entry. Prizes will be awarded. Cost to taste chili is $6; free for children ages 12 and younger. Sedge Garden United Methodist Church, 794 Sedge Garden Road, Kernersville, will have barbecue from 1 to 8 p.m. today. Dine in or take out. Tickets are $8 for adults and $4 for children. The church will also sell pine needles from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturdays through March, and from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. April 2. Cost is $4.25 a bale on site, $5.25 delivered and $6.25 spread.
