WELCOME -- A Mooresville truck driver has been cited in a wreck that led to a spill of almost 8,000 gallons of hazardous materials Tuesday, the N.C. Highway Patrol said.
Morris Glozier, 57, a driver for Quality Carriers Inc., was cited for unsafe movement, the highway patrol said. Glozier was turning right off N.C. 150 onto a service road when two wheels went off the road into a ditch, causing the truck to overturn.
Glozier was not injured. But the crash led to the spill of potentially flammable materials, including toluene.
The crash shut down the highway for most of Tuesday and led to the evacuations of several homes and businesses within 1,000 feet of the spill.
