»  Comments | Post a Comment

The executives of Wisdom Beverage LLC are remaining quiet about whether they plan to go through with moving the company's headquarters to Winston-Salem from High Point and bring at least 50 jobs.

John Fragakis, one of the executives, said Tuesday that he would not provide an update.

"I prefer not to discuss this further," he said.

On Monday, the Winston-Salem City Council approved providing up to $15,000 in incentives for the company.

The city said it would receive $7,480 in annual tax-incremental benefits from Wisdom.

Wisdom did not ask High Point officials for incentives to remain at its current location.

Wisdom distributes imported beer, wine and Red Bull energy-drink products statewide.

According to the N.C. Secretary of State's Office, Wisdom was founded in 2003 and is based at 4183 Eagle Hill Drive in High Point. It also has operations in Durham and the Outer Banks.

Ruben Gonzales, the development director for the city, said that Wisdom has nearly 100 employees companywide.

"They will bring 50 jobs immediately and create upward of another 50 in the next five years," Gonzales said.
