The Grilled Asparagus, which promises to be Winston-Salem's first vegetarian restaurant, has a new location.
Chef and owner Darryl Murray said he has signed a lease for 209 West Fourth St., the former location of the Downtown Deli, which last year moved to the One West Fourth office building.
Murray originally had planned to open his restaurant on Brookstown Avenue in the former Mary's Of Course! Café location, but plans fell through during lease negotiations.
The Grilled Asparagus is expected to have vegan, gluten-free and raw-food selections.
Murray said he hopes to open The Grilled Asparagus on Sept. 7.
