»  Comments | Post a Comment

Duke Energy has restored power to most of its Stokes County customers who were left in the dark after the weekend storm pulled down trees and power lines. As of 6 a.m., 188 Stokes County customers were still without power.

The city of King, and the rest of Stokes County, has been under a state of emergency since Saturday afternoon. That is scheduled to expire at 9 a.m.

Power has been restored to all but 1,718 Rockingham County customers, Duke Energy reported on its Web site this morning.

Of the more than 6,500 customers without power this morning, 3,502 of them are in Henderson County, in southwestern N.C.
