IN SPORTS

CH Our Charming Lady, an American Saddlebred mare owned by Donna and Jack Finch of Greensboro, recently took Triple Crown honors at the American Royal National Championship Horse Show in Kansas City, Mo. The prefix "CH" added to a horse's name indicates the horse has been certified an official "Champion" by the American Saddlebred Horse Association after having achieved a designated number of victories.

Our Charming Lady was ridden by her trainer, Mary Marcum Orr. With their win at the American Royal, Mary Orr and Our Charming Lady remain undefeated in 34 consecutive classes dating back to 2006. Our Charming Lady, with Mrs. Orr, was also the only horse at the World's Championship Horse Show in Louisville, Ky., to win back-to-back World's Grand Championship victories in 2008 and 2009.

Mrs. Orr and her husband, Evan, own and operate High Caliber Stables in Kernersville, a professional training facility and riding program for amateur and juvenile riders who compete at the regional and national levels.
