Special activities

Faith Missionary Alliance Church, 1078 Gumtree Road, will begin its Missions Conference with services at 10:15 a.m. and 6 p.m. Feb. 14. The conference will continue at 7 p.m. Feb. 15 through 17. Alan Clason and Debbi Clouser will discuss their missionary work in France and Burkina Faso. There will also be a meal at 5:30 p.m. Feb. 17 to raise money for a conference in Louisville, Ky. Goler Metropolitan AME Zion Church, 1435 E. Fourth St., will have its annual Men's Day service at 10 a.m. Feb. 14. The speaker will be Chancellor Harold Martin of N.C. A&T State University. The public is invited. For more information, call 723-2325.

Holy Trinity Full Gospel Baptist Church, 651 Akron Drive, and R.I.C.H. Community Development Corp. will sponsor a youth night from 7-10 p.m. Friday for children ages 3 and older. There will be games and refreshments. For more information, call 744-9293.

The Women's Fellowship of Home Moravian Church, 529 S. Church St., will sponsor an Ash Wednesday Day of Prayer service at 11 a.m. Feb. 17 in the sanctuary. The speaker will be the Rev. Elizabeth Yarbrough. The service will be preceded by a time of fellowship from 10-10:45 a.m. in the fellowship hall. A nursery will be provided.

Habitat for Humanity of Forsyth County will have a meeting at Knollwood Baptist Church, 330 Knollwood St., from 7-8:30 p.m. Tuesday to discuss building partnerships in El Salvador. The public is invited. For more information, call 765-8854, ext. 116.

New Birth Worship Center, 1033 New Birth Drive, East Bend, will have its "Multi-Affair Event" from 1:30-3:30 p.m. Feb. 20. In honor of Black History Month, the Thankful Heritage Traveling Black History Museum will be at New Jerusalem Missionary Baptist Church, 1212 N. Dunleith Ave., from 2-6 p.m. next Saturday and Feb. 14. There will also be a special dedication to celebrate the birthday of Frederick Douglass. Effley Howell will be the speaker. Pilgrim Rest Missionary Baptist Church, 1905 N. Jackson Ave., will have its annual Deacon and Trustee Day service at 3 p.m. Feb. 14. Pastor George Wooten and members of Wadsworth Congregational Church in Sedalia will be the guests.

St. Anne's Episcopal Church, 2960 Fairlawn Drive, will have a centering prayer at 6 p.m. Monday and a pasta dinner at 5:30 p.m. Wednesday. The public is invited.

St. Peter's Church and World Outreach Center, 3683 Old Lexington Road, will have a "KidZone Super Bowl Kick-off" beginning at 10 a.m. Sunday in the gym. Activities for children will include sports challenges and a cheerleading camp. For more information, call 650-0200.

Temple Emanuel, 201 Oakwood Drive, will present the first in a series of classes titled "Taste of Judaism" at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday. Rabbi Mark Strauss-Cohn will conduct the one-hour class, titled "Top 10 Prayers of Judaism." A half-hour social will follow. Free. Centenary United Methodist Church, 646 W. Fifth St., will open the 2010 season of its Faith in Film series with a screening of High Noon at 2:30 p.m. Sunday in the dining room.
