At least one killed in I-85 crash

LEXINGTON - At least one person was killed in an accident involving a tractor trailer and another vehicle on southbound Interstate 85 on Monday morning, FOX8/WGHP reported.

According to Lexington police, a vehicle that had stopped in the southbound lanes near Exit 91 was rear-ended by a tractor trailer. The accident happened shortly before 11:30 a.m. in Davidson County.

The vehicle appeared to have significant fire damage. Authorities have not revealed the identity or gender of the victim, or if he or she was in the vehicle that was rear-ended.

Police said the interstate is blocked between exits 96 and 91 of the southbound lanes.

According to the Department of Transportation, the incident should be cleared around 1:30 p.m.
