Greensboro not only stinks, it's ugly too.
Back in 2006, Old Spice listed Greensboro as number 46 on its list of the top 100 sweatiest cities in America. Adding insult to injury, the Web site TotalBeauty.com has now listed the Gate City as number four in its "Eight Cities with the Ugliest Guys."
"There's not a whole lotta lovin' going on in Greensboro, according to QualityHealth.com's survey of sexually active cities," the site explains. "Bad teeth and a one of the highest rates of obesity in the country might have something to do with it."
At least Greensboro fared better than Miami, Hagerstown, Md., and the number one not-so-hotspot, El Paso.
To get its results, TotalBeauty.com looked at educational statistics, exercise habits, obesity, smoking rates, and sales of contraceptives and erotica, rationalizing that "no sex generally equals less hot guys."
This isn't the site's only recent dig at Greensboro. In August, they ranked Greensboro as seventh among 14 "Worst-Teeth Cities," looking at such criteria as regular dental visits, amount of smoking and coffee drinking, and soda and red wine intake.
Winston-Salem got by unscathed, either because we're so much lovelier on this side of the county line or because folks in Santa Monica, Calif., (where TotalBeauty's editorial board is based, near as we can tell) don't realize there's more than one city in North Carolina.
