»  Comments | Post a Comment

GREENSBORO

A federal court judge this morning heard oral arguments, but made no decision, in suit over sectarian prayer at county meetings.

After a hearing that lasted about an hour and a half, Judge T. Trevor Sharp of U.S. District Court in Greensboro said that, "these issues are not entirely straightforward." He said that he would base his decision on how prayer cases have been handled in the past in the Fourth Circuit, which includes North Carolina.

Sharp did not say when would issue his ruling, but he said it would be relatively soon.
