Surry County investigators are looking into the death of a 61-year-old man whose body was found this morning on Old U.S. U.601, Emergency Services Director John Shelton said.
Two people on their way to work found the body on a stretch of road between New N.C. 601 and Branch Road, Shelton said.
A cause of death has not yet been determined. The man's identity has not been released pending notification of his family.
Shelton said the man had a history of health problems. His body was found not far from his home.
