Students can explore their options beyond high school during the Winston-Salem/Forsyth County Schools' annual college fair today.

"It's an opportunity we put together every year for our students so they can get an idea of what they might want to do after high school," said Theo Helm, a spokesman for the school system.

The event also is open to students in private schools, and parents are encouraged to attend.

Representatives from about 125 colleges and universities will be on hand, as well as recruiters from the armed services.

The "Post Secondary Opportunity Session" will be from 5 to 8 p.m. in the North Exhibit Hall at Benton Convention Center. For those wondering about scholarships, there is an hourlong information session that starts at 6 p.m.

In previous years, about 1,200 students have attended the event, which is sponsored by the school system's Department of Student Services, the School Counseling Program and the Crosby Scholars Community Scholarship Program, in cooperation with the Carolina Association of College Registrars and Admissions Officers.

For more information, call Student Services at 336-727-2912.
