GREENVILLE
Artifacts from the shipwreck of what's believed to have been Blackbeard's flagship will be shown off in an eastern North Carolina lab.

The artifacts are from what archaeologists believe to be the "Queen Anne's Revenge," which is located in the Atlantic Ocean near Beaufort. Members of the team leading the effort to recover items from the shipwreck will show off artifacts, including cuff links and cannons during a media preview Friday at QAR Conservation Lab in Greenville.

Queen Anne's Revenge was a French slave ship first called La Concorde. Blackbeard captured the ship in 1717 and renamed it before it ran aground a year later. The shipwreck was discovered in late 1996 and is within sight of Fort Macon State Park.
