Q. When is Kernersville's next annual electronics recycling drive, and where is the drop-off location? -- M.H.
A. In 2010, the town of Kernersville will collect electronic waste from residents at the curb rather than at a drop-off location. Electronics will be collected on residents' regular garbage days between Jan. 18 and Jan. 29. Electronics that can be put at the curb include televisions, computers, printers, copiers, scanners, phones, fax machines, VCR/DVD players, cords, wires, speakers, game consoles and stereos. Put small items in a cardboard box labeled "electronics recycling." Call 996-6916 for more information.
Forsyth County residents can bring electronic waste directly to the 3RC Envirostation drop-off center at 1401 S. Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd. 3RC hours are Tuesday through Friday from 9 a.m. until 2 p.m. and Saturday from 9 a.m. until noon. For more information, go online to www.cityofws.org/home/departments/recycletoday, and click 3RC Hazardous Waste or call 784-4300.
