Thanksgiving is almost here. You know what that means. From now until early January, it's just going to be a sled ride of socializing, all of which require food and gifts. Make it a little easier on yourself and help out a religious or arts group while you're at it by doing your shopping at a bazaar. Here is a list of the ones we know about:
Today
South Fork Community Center: 9 a.m.-9 p.m. today, 9 a.m.-5 p.m. Saturday, 4403 Country Club Road. "Gingerbread Arts and Crafts Fair," baked goods, door prizes, and works by more than 50 artisans. The Gingerbread Kitchen will offer lunch and dinner.
Saturday
Antioch United Methodist Church: 9 a.m.-1 p.m., Antioch Church Road, Rural Hall. Baked items, candies, chicken pies. Lunch available.
Belews Creek Christian Church: 8 a.m. until noon, 8451 Belews Creek Road. Chicken pies, baked goods, crafts, quilt drawing. Breakfast available.
Burkhead United Methodist Church: 11 a.m.-7 p.m., 5250 Silas Creek Parkway, will hold a Fall Festival with arts & crafts vendors, bake sale and Port-a-Pit chicken barbeque; no admission charge. Tickets for half-a-chicken w/trimmings are $8 or $5 for half a chicken only. Eat in or take out available. Call 765-6590, ext. 1 for information.
Clemmons Moravian Church: 8 a.m.-1 p.m., 3560 Spangenberg Ave., Clemmons. Holiday decorations, Moravian stars, stationery, tin crafts, canned and baked goods, chicken pies, jellies, flavorings, independent vendors. Breakfast available.
Friedberg Moravian Church: 4-7 p.m., 2178 Friedberg Church Road. Chicken-pie and country-ham supper. The Bazaar Table will offer crafts, desserts, and chicken pies.
Hickory Ridge United Methodist Church: 8 a.m.-1 p.m., 6012 Germanton Road. Annual bazaar. Breakfast and lunch available.
Hope Moravian Church: 9-11 a.m., 2759 Hope Church Road. Fall bake sale, with chicken pies and other homemade items.
Kernersville Friends Meeting: 7 a.m.-2 p.m., 320 N. Main St., Kernersville. Frozen dinners, jams, jellies, baked items, canned meats and vegetables, chicken pies, crafts, and a raffle. Breakfast and lunch available.
New Philadelphia Moravian Church: 8:30 a.m.-1 p.m., 4440 Country Club Road. "'Tis the Season Holiday Bazaar," Moravian-theme clothing, chicken pies, baked goods, crafts, quilt and silent auctions, white-elephant sale, and snack bar.
Oak Grove Moravian Church: 5-7 p.m., 120 Hammock Farm Road. Chicken- and Brunswick-stew dinner. Plates will be $7. Take-out will be $7 a quart for chicken stew, $8 a quart for Brunswick stew.
Pilgrim Lutheran Church: 8 a.m.-2 p.m., 823 Ridge Road, Lexington. Crafts, baked and canned goods, Christmas decorations, quilt raffle, door prizes, and a yard sale. Breakfast and lunch available.

Brock Gymnasium: 5-9 p.m. Thursday, 9 a.m.-9 p.m. next Friday, 9 a.m.-4 p.m. Nov. 14, N. Main Street, Mocksville. "Davie Craft Corner," an annual craft village with juried items. Dempsey Essick will be the featured artist. There will also be a children's area, bake sale, and café. Sponsored by the Davie Craft Association. Admission $1, free for children younger than 12.
Next Friday
Center United Methodist Church: 5-7 p.m. next Friday, 7 a.m.-2 p.m. Nov. 14, Center Church Road, Welcome. Chicken-pie supper next Friday. On Nov. 14 there will be a bazaar, with theme baskets, a silent auction, farmers market, Christmas decorations, gift items, yard sale, and children's activities. Breakfast and lunch available.
